Review of Idle Vikings RPG

Edutainment at its finest!

Idle Vikings is a gem of an Idle game.

Graphically:
it is on par with the old Nes. However, the graphics are good enough to get the viking theme across. However, it should be noted that the writing is rather small if using a high definition resolution. Add to this problem the lack of mouse over explanation text, tyou level of annoyance is going to increase as you zoom in and out. Despite this issue, once you play through the tutorial (really quick), the game is pretty easy to navigate without needing to read a thing. The only time this becomes a major annoyance is when you try to complete and event with your hero, which requires you to read the background story and choose a selection.

Gameplay:
This is a  rather deep Idle game. The premise is that you are playing as a Viking Hero/warlord through three different settlements. Each of the settlements will need to unlock 100%  of the upgrades before you may move on to the next one in the chain. Once this occurs the game awards you with a time. If your choices during the hero events were in line with the historically accurate choice, you will win the title of "True Viking".

To upgrade, you will need to earn resources. This starts off as  a simple click farming style game. However, as you unlock upgrades, you will be able to hire viking underlings to do the work for you, while you focus on the spending the resources.  You spend the resources on gathering speed boosts, different materials that you can gather, different workers to be hired, and some plot based event triggers.

To help expediate the gain of resources, your hero can be sent to work at one fo the 6 gathering sections of the game. the first four are basic mining and farming. The other two are the crafting the section of the game where you will make needed impliments an food to increase the productivity of your workers. While working at the selected position, your hero gains experience which serves to boost the production.

Replayability:

With so many different aspects of gameplay, this idle game allows you to be more active and still enjoy the game. This means you will want to play it again. However, the end game becomes an Adventure Capitalist style game, and so may cause a loss of interest.

Hack Power:
The current posted hacks work. However, they are not really necessary. The game moves pretty well, and with CE to speedhack, and a good autoclicker, you will dominant this game pretty easily, without needing bust out  the KHUT or the hacking skills.

Overall Rating:
This is a pretty fun idle game, that gives you a bit of story to grasp onto while idling. The hacks may not be necessary, but can help get passed barriers. It is currently my go to idle game during the work day. The game is worth a try if you are into the idle stuff. The main reason for the 10/10 is that the game allows you take an active role instead of the more typical set it and forget it style of most idle games.
