Review of Detective Grimoire

Detective Greato

This is a very well done Point & Click, I like it!

You play as Private Detective Grimoire, simply a detective who's investigating a crime scene on an amusement park. The amusement park theme in here is what makes the game a little bit creepy I think, not because I'm afraid of amusement parks, it's just that I love the feeling that the amusement park is abandoned or soon to be abandoned.

The place is actually MADE to look like it's abandoned, rundown and so on, but it's not. That is, according to a cleaner. Never knew abandoned-style amusement park themes are popular with kids these days.

The crime scene you're investigating is of an old janitor who got murdered in a Hall of Mirrors amusement location. Apparently a clown is the suspect, just because he has bad relationships with him, but is he really the killer? You'll figure out when you play this.

You have to walk around the Fairground and talk with people, as well as look for clues that lead deeper into the murder case. Sometimes you have to do an "Eye Contact Interrogation" on suspects to get the truth out of them. Do real life detectives even do this? Anyway...

The variety of characters you get is nice, there's that "main suspect" clown I mentioned back, who seems to be a typical "Clown just for job, not to make kids happy" and an entertainer who apparently hates kids, the hell? Then there's a student working at night while studying, that's funny. And then there's the cleaner, apparently he's the youngest and he's also that student's stalker. Did I mention the student has an uncle? Yep and he's a mechanic and has a moustachio like me! Oh yeah, there's also a cop who has a moustachio as well, you can even ask him by he has that. Don't ask ME. There's also the nervous, gruffy amusement park boss.

If you like Point & Click games, especially Mystery Case, then you really should give this one a try. It's worth it.
