I managed to hack hexen, but it was glitchy as fuck. Values are constantly reseting.

The trick is to search for your health in double, and then find decreasing value you as you get hit.

You're always going to be left with 7/8 values, so i just froze them all and hoped for the best. Once you've frozen the values, don't save the game, because this resets the value.

Sometimes your health will look like its locked because its flickering, but its not the case, you will still die.

Don't be afraid to have to constantly search for values.

Theres alot harder games to hack then the doom pack, its really not difficult at all. And the double works, just went and tried it.

Doom passed. If it is such pain in ass, no need to do it.

In Doom, health is 4bytes *1. On last level, take chaingun and wipe out lords before they wipe YOU out. Freezing health is useless against their shots, so if you take many, you die. Better get on lava and fight one at the time

sorry, you have to use some mega awesome skills. It really is annoying, but if you do it on easiest difficulty, i dont see many problems

Having a hell of a time with Heretic. I can find HP and each weapon ammo as 4bytes*1, but it occasionally resets without any outward signs, and I get raped. Wouldn't be too bad if i remembered to save more than once every two levels, and if the saves would properly load. Poorly ported game is poorly ported. I am beyond frustrated with it...

For Doom, find HP, Armor and Chaingun ammo (4bytes*1 if you can't read the above posts) freeze and set to 999. You can stand still and blast at the Demon Lords in the last area without every worrying about dying, even on the hardest difficulty. And the nice thing (at least for me) is that I only had to do it once. The variables weren't reset at each level.

Oh, and 4bytes*1 works for Hexen as well. It is actually pretty short, as you only get to play to the 3rd level. The walkthrough is here http://doom.wikia.com/wiki/Hub_1:_Seven_Portals. You only need to look under the first three headings and it's done before you know it.
