Cool-Thing

So, this is the very first game of the "Thing-Thing" series. Unlike the others, this one actually doesn't have much to offer. Thing is, this was made as an experiment as the developer says.

All in all, the graphics are different from the other Thing-Thing series games (at least more pronounced so from 3 to 4), you can see that it is even more simpler and basic. There's no fancy shaders at all, or at least pseudoshaders since I'm honestly not too good with knowing what's what. Just like the other Thing-Thing games, this one has some player customization and you can easily see that it's some sloppy Microsoft Paint job unlike in Thing-Thing 2 (yes, even on 2) and up.

Gameplay has one big difference unlike the other Thing-Thing games; There are no respawning enemies, all enemies go RIGHT into you (even soooo close as if they're about to kiss or hug you) and they all got guns, unrandomized guns. Well, that's for enemies. Now, for weapons, they aren't exactly categorized and ALL of them are ONE-HANDED, yet you can see that there's some AK and M4. Lazy dev I guess, heh. Wanna know what's funny or ridiculous or stupid or whatever other subjective you wanna add? (I failed "English") The bullets are extremely slow, you can see the..."Bullets", they're more like lines actually. All in all, the weapon variety at least does some justice. As you can see, the gameplay in here is not really that fun.

By the way, sound and music? Pathetic. The gun sounds are pretty typical, nothing original. There's absolutely no environmental sound either, no electrical jolts, no fans, no moving elevator, no people talking...Nothing! Not until you reach outside. When outside, you can hear a faint, pleasing song. It's very nice indeed. Hell, it's probably the only song in this game, and the only good one. Oh yeah, there's no sound to everything else as well, that is, pain sounds for example.

There is actually a Storyline but I never really understood it, I wish I could. Apparently, you're an experiment that leaves the lab, but not before killing Poseidon, the "Laser Dude" as I'm sure many would call him. You then realize that Zeus and Hades have been send out to capture you. SPOILER: At the end, you get to see Poseidon again...Dead. He then gets up and grabs you. The end. SPOILER ENDED.

So, overall, this is a game worth trying if you want to know more about Thing-Thing, but that's pretty much it since the gameplay and replay isn't that worth it.
