The path to "What time is it?"

01/02/2015

Ok, so, I'm taking ahead the task to review the successor of the great game that caravaneer was, a long, sick, micromanagemente game that takes place in a post post post apocalyptic world and you need to find your way in it as a simple trader.
The story begins simple, maybe a little too much like Fallout 3, you are a young boy in a super safe bunker, and then the supervisor calls you to find a person that's missing, so there starts your adventure, trading, buying stuff, selling stuff, BUYING MORE STUFF, dying of thirst, dying of hunger, being attacked, pwning enemies, and so on, are the things that make caravaneer 2 a polifacetic game, that has a lot, believe me, a lot of story lines and options.
So, in general terms, i'll explain my choices in here:

Physical Qualities 9/10
So, the game audio is great, maybe it's not Sonny 2, with it's own voices for each dialogue, but you have a lot of music that plays, and the game sounds aren't shit, unless that you are an audionerd, you'll survive.
The game itself is great, a HUGE map, a lot of things to do, a lot of ways to do it, think about it as a fallout game, it takes you to a post apocaliptic world, and you have to choose your way in it, are you a bad guy? or a saviour? It's your choice!

Gameplay 8/10
So, the gameplay takes a little drawback for the lenght, or lets say, the complexity of being a trader in here, the biggest drawback is the fact that the game doesn't have a good "organize" mechanic, so, when you have a big caravan with maybe 7 or 8 guys, and mules, you'll have te problem that you'll never know what the hell is taking so much weight, because it's in between a lot of stuff mixed in that horrible GUI menues, also, you can't use numbers below 1 to trade, and that, when you are managing every bit of space, is a big drawback.
But hey, I gave an 8 for a reason! The story, the story is great, I won't spoil it, but it's well made, with a lot of outcomes, and a HUGE amount of posibilities.

Replayability 5/10
So, the replayability of this game is strictly attached to the willing of the player to go through all the story again, and that, my dear reader, is crazy, the game lenght extends almost for 19hs, so, if you want to replay it, it's up to you, in my opinion, the 5/10 is because you'll replay it if you want to know "what happends if I do this instead of that...", but, away from that, isn't worth it.

Hack Power 9/10
Well, a 9/10 is because the game is all based in numbers, and with that, you can be a total dummy with hacking tools, and you'll still find the values and adresses for this game with no problem, it's very simple to get what you want, and also, konghack allows you in THIS PAGE, to get a huge amount of sick hacks for it.

So, in definition, and all that said, I give this game an Overall Rating of 9/10, it's a great game, a must play in kongregate, and you should play it, with and without hacks.

Happy Holidays!
