Coolest-Thing

Oh yeah! Thing-Thing 3! This is obviously the 3rd game of the Thing-Thing series. In this one, you can see how greatly the game has improved or changed in case you don't think it did actually improve.

What has been improved? Well, for gameplay, you now do get enemies with guns instead of a bunch of "slow zombie-like semi-clones" or so. In order to unlock weapons you must kill a lot or get them on some places that are supposedly well hidden. The weapons system remains the same, except with one new addition; Assault Rifle. It's just like in Thing-Thing 2, each weapon belongs to one ammo type and that ammo type is spend whenever you shoot with that weapon type. Oh yeah, the weapon variety is GREATLY increased in comparison to Thing-Thing 2, you can kind of say that this game does have Gun Porn this time.

The healing system has changed, now whenever you get hurt, it stays that way, good ol' way. To heal up, you must kill an enemy and pray that the random drop will be a healthpack and then just grab it. Also, the stamina system has been removed, you can freely sprint and jump as many times as you want. Funnily, the movement system kind of changed as well into something more realistic, that is, you can't RUN backwards, only walk.

There's now not just one Survival gamemode but three; Beans, Zombies and Normal. Beans is rather silly since all you're doing is fighting against some kind of retarded-eyed beans or something. Zombies is what it says, survive against a bunch of slow hungry zombies. Normal is pretty much you in a room against all the type of goons from the main storyline and such.

Overall, the gameplay shares some from Thing-Thing 2 and even Thing-Thing 1, but it's rather fun.

As for graphics, it may not look much but it did indeed heavily improve. For example, the gore system, you can now see that shooting in the head will not make them explode in the end but instead either make their head explode or turn into a gory skull, that's cool! And in comparison to Thing-Thing 2, you can see that the foreground is heavily improved. Same with the camera, it DOES follow the player now, unlike in Thing-Thing 2 where it mostly did but not always (especially up or down). Besides, the animations are way better than before as you can see when dying or killing. You even get hands instead of paws now! Oh yeah talking about that, you now get more customization variety although it did remove some such as the spiked/non-spiked SWAT helmet, that is for a sacrifice of some similar clothes or hair with different colours. I don't think that's too bad.

As for the setting, it now finally makes sense. You start in a city and then you go to an industrial complex in which you then realize it's a lab of sorts and you're trapped in the cryogenic sector, but then you get out back to the lab and finally, you remain in the lab for reasons that I won't say due to spoilers, heh! As you can see, unlike in Thing-Thing 2, this does make kind of sense because at least you don't have to wonder how you turn from city to desert and then to industrial complex. But it does seem strange that the city is pretty much not made on ground level as in real life, meaning you'll have to jump around to get from part to part. But then, why the fuck are there cars?! Must be one hell of a place to drive in, eh?

What's that I heard? Sound? Oh yeah, well...The sound is heavily improved here since the quality is better than before, but not just that, you no longer hear that silly high-pitched dead groan and instead you hear a more satisfying gushy bleeding noise. The gun sound is also somewhat improved, in terms of quality I guess, but it also sounds very typical, I'd say you play Madness Combat and you'll easily realize it.

As for Music, same terms about quality as sounds I guess. It also got a change from Industrial-Electro to...Well, not too sure what genre this one is. There IS some electro-industrial or industrial left though, so yeah, it's not such a big radical change. It still seems that the music is not exactly matching.

As you can see, this is one of my favourite games and I really love it. I highly recommend it to everybody unless you really deeply hate Thing-Thing itself, or its graphics, like they were made by stickmen or something.
