The game where humanity lives in war through ages...

09/12/2015

"Age of war 2" is obviously the sequel of "Age of war". It's still a strategy game, where two camps are in conflict from the beginning of the human civilization. You still have to destroy the enemy base while you protect your base, by buying units with money and evolve through ages with experience, by killing enemies units.
The game has a now a minimum of 4 types of units across periods of time like Egyptian Times or Modern Times to send to the enemy :

  • The first unit is the Infantry class, it's generally a melee unit.
  • The second is the Support class, it can shoot behind another unit, or multiples units by the evolution of your units, and it's the less costly unit.
  • The third is the Anti-armor class, it's the unit with the fastest attack,
  • The forth is the Heavy class, it's the most expensive, the most resistant and the most powerful of the 4 classes, but they are slower.

One of them is locked for each ages, generally the Heavy, and you have to purchase a specific upgrade/"item" to unlock it.
You can protect your base by buying turrets, and replace them while you evolve, or by using a special attack, which has a cooldown and now it require XP, so don't unlash it too much.
The difficulty of the game goes from easy to insane difficulty, and it's generally a bit easier than it's prequel.
This version gives some useful things like the possibility to upgrade the power and the resistance of each type of units (even turrets), you can also increase the range of Support units, and increase the money given by each enemy killed. They become important when you will evolve your base.

Compared to its prequel, it's easier to play it again. This game is overall better and easier, the only thing that didn't change at all  is that there is only one music, and it's the same one. However, where the prequel was like a beta game, "Age of war 2" is a complete game with really better graphics and interface, you can finally pause the game and speed up the game by 2x. It's an excellent flash game, regardless of the repetitiveness of each game.
