Contra City Review

02/09/2016

The game isn't amazing graphics wise, but it isn't 100% pixelated either. The "high detail" loading screens are Garry's Mod style.Loading screen is slightly interesting but not very clever or detailed. The sound is okay, but the gameplay is pretty bad. I probably wouldn't play it if I had seen gameplay of it before hand. As it is an online game that appears to be server based, it is unlikely that any hacks will arrive, at least not soon and not easily. It probably isn't worth the hassle to hack it.

Only two servers available, one for the US and one for Europe, but there never seems to ber over 100 people on each. The game itself can be found on Kongregate or Facebook. Getting money and xp is very difficult. While there are many weapons to choose from with decent customization, most servers are dominated by whoever gets to the best spot first. since there is only one spawn per team, one team typically dominates by using rocket launchers and spawn camping.

Many people have left very negative comments, such as "Lay a full 20-round M16 clip into dude at short range. He turns around and hits you with one bullet. You're dead. You watch your attacker walk away still with 64HP. Unbalanced, much?" (Bozotic) and "The game also has quite some issues with the players' hitboxes. Getting killed behind cover (laggy hitboxes) and failing shots are quite common." (Jigabachi88). The game is clearly riddled with bug. I recommend that no one even try this game out.
