Sonny 2 is a sequel from the Sonny series, and this one has a lot better statistics. The major feature of this game is the extensive system of gameplay. It features a decent strategy and RPG combination with a pretty decent story.
The story starts after the duos Sonny and Veradux escaped the first period of the outbreak, where the world is in a chaotic state. Sonny wakes up from a nightmare and Veradux was checking if he was alright, then a motorcycle jumps out of the bushes and trampled Sonny, revealing that the rider was a girl and she took a tape held by Sonny. The chase continues to Alcatraz prison, the first zone area. The story continues through the ice wasteland, subway and finally unto the city edges.
The gameplay is pretty simple, just point and click. However, the system feats a extremely wide range of action skills, which has its own unique effect, and can be combine to create various effects, such as critical strike with buffed damage, stuns, major DoT, healing, resurrecting, and various other effects. You also have a resistance and piercing system, piercing grants increased damage and huge critical damage boost with the action skills which deals the certain damage type, physical piercing grants increase physical damage, or physical heal, while physical defense grants increased damage resist for that type of damage and decreased critical damage.
Since it is an RPG element, the game grants a skill system, which can be used as an active action skill or passive skill to boost your effectiveness on the battlefield. This is the unique part, the damage the action skills dealt is not numerical fixed. It's based on your attributes. For example, you will gain a no cooldown basic strike in the beginning which deals damage equal to the 150% strength and restores 50 stamina. The game also provides 3 different classes, biological, physcological, and hydrolics. Biological is the classic strength and speed combo specializing in acid attacks, psychological is a more complicated mind-tinkering dark combo which has greater potential, and hydrolics is basically ice-based attacks which a lot of stuns of disrupting skill effects.
The attributes consists of strength, vitality, instinct, speed, and focus. Strength has no passive effects, but as a coefficient of melee-themed attacks. Instinct works for magic-themed ones. Vitality increases your character hit points and acts as a coefficient for some skills. Speed increases critical chance as well as hit chance, evasion, and acts as a coefficient on some skills. Focus is your stamina, it can't be increased with skill points, but some items can grant increased focus. It's used for activating skills, however some skills has no focus cost, it also act as a coefficient for some skills.
Items are also a feature, you can either purchase them or get them from a drop. Some certain items however, can only be obtained by killing certain enemies. The game grants you 2 modes, practice and story, story is a continuous progress of the game and you can never go back to a certain kind of enemy, except fighting bosses that has been previously defeated. The other one is practice, you will be allocated with an enemy of your level on that zone, but the item drop is not as powerful as the story drops.
In my opinion, this game is great if you enjoy intense mind-tinkering strategies with fast-paced actions. The graphic and effects are simple, but eye-catching. Great for RPG or strategy gamers.
