Ye Olde Clicker/Idler Gone Right

02/08/2017

This is the other review I said to myself to do, even at a later time.  As it turns out, there's enough time to do said review still due to this week and the next week being really busy times.  So let us get right into the meat of the game itself.

Physical Qualities: the game has its own uniqueness in that one goes through various champions to progress through.  As a result, these champions look and play differently.  The audio is a bit limited in that one can hear pretty much only clicking on a stone in the game, for the most part.  If there was a bigger soundtrack with the game, it'd go by a lot better. 6/10

Gameplay: Like most Idlers close to it, it has simplicity as a saving grace...for a while, anyways.  One has to switch between three modes of gameplay: letting the game play itself in Mana/Idle, clicking on the previously-mentioned stone in Rage, and a mixture of the two using skills themselves a lot more in Energy.  Each type has its advantage and disadvantage.  All of this goes on as one tries to also earn gold, diamonds to reset with, and loots which boost specific parts of the game at once.  Each champion has a threshold needed to reach them, and each champion is better than the last, but it takes a while to get to each one effectively. 8/10 for simplicity's sake.

Replayability: Because one has to reset all the time to get much of anywhere in terms of progress or sanity, one HAS to replay the game; no ifs, ands or buts will help the player here.  Farm gold, get diamonds, repeat until next champ is available.  After a while, the player may get tired of having to constantly do this, but it is personally worth it. 10/10

Hack Power: Just like with Crush Crush, Midas' Gold Plus has no hope of being able to be hacked well or much. It would seem there's a bit of a bigger threshold for room to hack the game, however, in a future time. As it stands right now, the game has no hackability at all. 1/10

Final Verdict/Overall Score: It's a fairly balanced Idler/Clicker/Progress Blaster that has come a long way from its beginnings as simply Midas Gold.  With a bit more work and time, the game can become something that rivals Clicker Heroes, Cookie Clicker, and any other major or popular Idler game. 7/10
