MAA Review

02/23/2015

The game has pretty well done sprites and animations, along with decent backgrounds and semi decent music.

The sheer number of playable heroes / villains keep this game interesting. However, the battles feels rather repetitive after awhile. The story on the other hand, ignoring Season 1, has gotten pretty gotten pretty good and keeps players intrigued on what would happen next in MAA's universe (Earth 12131). Also, the Spec Op missions and Comic Cover Collections give a nice little backstories and introductions to newer characters and are definitely worth a read.

PvP wise, MAA favors people who spend money buying gold for their character. Without cheating, a non-spender cannot attain the higher ranks in PvP for the better rewards and this will have a snowball effect as the higher tier rewards help a great deal with improving the player's stats, and survivability for the following battle season. Ultimately, players would have to expect to spend a decent amount of money catching up once behind.

The game however is rather repetitive due to the fact that you would need to grind on certain maps to gain command points to recruit more characters and Spec Ops objectives cannot be 100% completed on one playthrough. While it is a necessary factor due to the fact that the game's actions are limited to the amount of energy the player has, it does get a little boring when there aren't new content releases.

Overall, this game is interesting and rather fun but might not be enjoyed by people who haven't been introduced to the Marvelverse before.
