Is it possible to use KBH for old badges

I have seen some badges that are no longer on some games that other users have already obtained when they were still on the game. Is it possible to use KBH to obtain these badges? Or are they just gone forever?

They are gone forever. There are several badges I have where the game has been taken down. They are completely inaccessible now.
