Speed hack doesn't work - energy's kept server side - the display will update, but it won't actually do owt.

well and speed hack, if you wanna get banned in 30 seconds. get 1 energy like every 5 seconds
-1 Karma!

It's server sided.

Anyway, if anyone would like to learn more about server sided games, just let me know. I develop one. (broken image removed)

I wish KH would go through and ban the people who contribute useless stuff like that.

i never tried it to the point of actually waiting on energy at *2 or *3, i just saw it sped up the time and figured it would also generate usable energy (never tested). it obviously increases timer speed. They find out because server based flash games there is decline in latency when actions per second incline. A particular server-sided flash game I am an admin and one of developers (somehow) created a program that sends any admin a a "ding"if actions per second such as item drops, hp regen and other things occur faster than the set=param. I don't know the first thing about developing, but it sounds easy to program if someone knows what they doing to spot simple cheats like speed hacking and showing you an IP/IGN associated with it.

Dream World isn't a flash game. It's a craptastical AJAX style game. Granted, those games are growing in popularity as they are more "social" games, but the graphics are still somewhat... lacking... in this one. Have you even seen a ghoul yet? It looks like some evil penis that wants to eat your face...

Anyway, the -1 karma was for actually creating an account just to post something horribly useless. It goes to show that you didn't even bother to read the thread, as it was already posted that CE won't do anything as it's all server sided. The AoD world cycles every 15 minutes. No matter how fast you set speedhack, nothing will happen. Right now, I don't have a javascript counter or anything, as it would just be a waste of resources. Even if speedhack "worked" and showed that you were gaining billions of whatever, as soon as you refreshed the page, went to a different page, performed an action, etc. the page would display what is actually on the server, now what is on your local machine.

People were actually trying to use speedhack in Tribal Wars, as things took time. They would speedhack their firefox and watch their resources roll in at 100x normal speed, then come to find out that nothing really happened, as the javascript on the page is merely something to more or less show you what you would have at this point in time. When you go to another page, it will reset as it loads from the server.

Anyway... I'm done ranting now. (broken image removed)

I think you're forgetting about the cacti, the things look like giant green dildos with dicks for noses.

Well it says I created an account like 2 days after you. (About a year ago) I contributed mostly on the original howtok.110mb.com. I got some unflattering messages when I posted hacks/ trainers on certain games as I later became an admin for one of them and my screen name (my bad) happened to be the same screen name used on the game I became admin.

I'll admit, i don't know diddly about developing, but python script and hex byte codes I am quite familiar with.
However in context of server based games, those don't help out at all.

I figured with AJAX type games it would ask for install of an ActiveX, i do not recall that. So...I suppose the only way to hack server sided games is to gain access to their static IP? I guess Im working for -50 karma here. heh

I did vaguely remember that account name. And now I know.
Why'd you disappear?

AJAX != ActiveX.

AJAX = Asynchronous JavaScript And XML

AJAX is Javascript. It's just the implementation really. I wound up having to explain this to half my damn DHTML/AJAX class on day 1 back when I went to college. It's merely javascript that refreshes only certain parts of a page. Notice that it never reloads? That's the AJAX. It really does more than just refresh certain parts of the page (such as submit data, receive data, etc...) but you get the gist of it. (broken image removed)

If you go to Newgrounds and vote on or rate something, the page never refreshes. Back in the day it did, but that's not the case anymore.

AJAX is everywhere. It's AWESOME!!! Once I get the alliances system finished for AoD and rewrite the espionage system, I will be upgrading all of my old refreshing pages to a massive AJAX system that doesn't need to refresh anymore. It just take a LOT of work to get it to function properly.

Anyway, what do you think you can do with an IP address? Ping them to death?

216.246.59.228 < Kongregate's Static IP Address. Ping away!

lol, sorry. I'm a bit of a dick.

Also, I didn't realize to check registration date. I figured as that was your only post, you were some lame n00b that registered just to make a useless post. It happens all the time...

why do we keep talking about something that cannot be hacked? :| :?:
Re: Dream World Posted on: 02/11/2010 5:10pm

Because it can be hacked, and maybe it can be hacked more.

1. Fully functional badgehack. By the way, admins should edit first post to put badgehack instructions there.
2. There was a gold "hack" (if typing a negative number is a hack), so maybe there will be another, or a gem hack, or some similar exploit.
3. There's a decent chance the app is vulnerable to SQL injection. Given how shoddy the entire project seems to be, it wouldn't surprise me at all if they forgot to protect against that. I advise anyone who wants to play around with that to do it from behind seven proxies; if you trash their db they will come after you.
4. Botting is hacking too. It's very straightforward, just put the time into doing it.

Badgehack is done and over with. Check the earlier pages.

The gold hack has been patched. You can no longer donate negative amounts of cash to guilds and get insane amounts of cash back.

SQL injection is a possibility, but I don't feel like dealing with authorities for database tampering. I've gone through it before, not going there again.

Botting would be nice, but it's not really hacking, it's programming. (broken image removed)

I wonder if the Kongregate Dream World data syncs up with the Facebook Dream World... (broken image removed)
