You can GPS spoof all you want, but they have countermeasures in place where if they determine you're spoofing they'll make it so you can't catch anything no matter what. They've also issued a few ban waves (albeit soft bans, not IP bans or what have you).

there are multiple websites that do this by using the games API.

the reason they do this is because the distance tracker is totally broken. itll say a pokemon is 300 feet away in one direction when in reality its 40 feet in the opposite direction. the websites that use the API's are actually correct

botting is very noticable, and that bot was taken down 9 days ago.

as a sidenote, the creators of pokevision are working with niantic to fix their broken as shit tracker, so thats cool. look forward to a working tracker in the future

Currently every BOT gives you Perm ban.
They also mention using Nox and other emulators resulting in (perm) bans.
Had 3 accounts (ranged lvl 20-33), used snipers, emulators, different kinds of bots => all banned.
Created a new account a few days (4-5 days) back and trying not to get softbans by using human like settings. It's not banned yet but i'm pretty sure it will get banned soon (bcs of API).
Maybe later in the game trading will be made possible, so if you make a disposable bot account with high CP pokémon and let it trade with a legit account you could still fool Niantic. IMO Niantic isn't very foreward looking when it comes to cheaters so I'm hoping when they ever launch a initial trading system it will have some flaws and lets you make those trades :D

I read somewere that by using cydia (for JB iphones) you could get a modified version of POGO that gives u a pokemonscanner and makes it possible to GPS spoof (run ingame) without getting banned. Could that be legit?

Yea then you get banned but for the few months ive been on they havent banned me yet. still catching at the moment... the apps are out there just got to elgoog them...
