World Idle

This game is currently only available to K+ members through Kongregate, or is directly available at worldidle.com

I threw in a quick console hack.  After a half hour of fucking around trying to find the active data, I said fuck it and modified the game data. ;)

I remember you teaching me the basics of this with a game long ago. It's really cool to see you do hacks with us.

I'm far better with HTML5 games since I spend a 60+hrs a week working in that environment.  I'm almost always in linux, so I don't have any kinda flash decompiler, and unity just won't run on linux, sooo....  :P

There is an issue with food in the hack I posted.  It'll most likely immediately drop, as there is some kinda expiration system.  Since I'm adding a ton of genes, go to the genetics tab, set your birth rate to 5K and your food storage to 50K, and the bottom 3 to 10K or something and it'll work out better.  Hell, go with 50K for birth rate till you get a billion, then set it back to 0.

how come finding the actual game data was hard/not feasible?

Time & Effort.  He's using requirejs and handlebars.  Instead of trying every variable to see if it's the object or not, then digging through shit that way, it was far easier to screw with the save data and refresh the browser.

Console command screen is a screen where you can input things into the JS, on chrome you can right click and then click inspect element, last tab is the console command screen

In Chrome, simply press CTRL+SHIFT+J.  You could also try F12.
 

Tried this in the console, i may possibly be doing something wrong but i keep getting the error that "lzstring is not defined"

Provide more info.  What browser / extensions, and did you play the game for a minute or two before trying that?
