I'm sure some of you know my PC got broken: http://konghack.com/topic/8842-computer_sucks_need_help

And I need to get a new motherboard and videocard because those are the two components that got broke, the rest are alright, luckily.

But before you do so, I'm very sure you need to know that I live in Spain, so Euro is my currency. (I'm not Spanish and I don't wanna speak Spanish) More specifically, in South Spain, Marbella.
Also, I have a very low budget, might be as low as 250 Euros but I don't want a bad motherboard or videocard. I can't remember my old motherboard, it was a 2010 ASUS I think, as for the videocard, I sure remember it, it was an Nvidia GTX285 from Asus as well.
Also, my plan is to first save on a Motherboard and then on a videocard, that means I'm not buying both the motherboard and videocard simultaneously. Good plan or bad plan?

So does anyone know a good and cheap motherboard? I'd prefer it to be ASRock because Asus have this shitty Realtek that makes my Manhunt play looping sounds badly.

As for videocard, hopefully one that is at least double the speed of my 285 and cheap(er?). It can be 50% faster than 285 too.

Never let a computer tell me shit.

we'd need to know cpu architecture and socket type. ram type. powersupply type. If you tell me all that then maybe someone can help you. I cant either way because I dont know shit about computers, other than the one Ive got at my house. My mom put a couple of games on there and I play 'em.

I use this AoB tool to make all the AoBs I post. Try the online version if you dont feel like downloading it.

Yup.  Post extreme details of what you have left.  Great example is the fucking i-7 chips.  There's at least 2 different sockets for that shit, and wouldn't you know, the i-7 I have doesn't fit any modern sockets.  It was a 1 year deal, and they discontinued them and moved onto a different socket for the i-7.  Spent $999 on a chip that, after the board died, is fucking useless...

Damn, I'd need to check my dead PC again then.

Well, what I know is that my RAM is a stick of 4GB, I have two of them, and I'm sure it is DDR5. My CPU is indeed an i7, but I can't remember the serial number. Maybe it was 2000? I know it is 3.20GHz, has 4 cores and 8 threads due to hyperthread.

For power supply, all I can tell is that it's 750W.

Sorry for the horrible details, when I get back to my dead PC I can tell you all the details better. Is CPU Architecture and Socket Type, RAM Type and Powersupply Type all you need?

Just curious how do you know that just the mobo/gpu is broken? That seems like a really odd combo to break unless you physically hit the gpu and the pins connecting the 2 broke.

For your MOBO ram, you've either got DDR2 or DDR3.  The upper DDR's are only available in video cards.  I'm 99.999% sure the highest you can go in a mobo is DDR3.

Yeah, that should be good.

Simple really.  Video card shorts out, takes out the board.  Let's say the PCIe port on the board shorts out, fries the vid card.  Just a couple ideas off the top of my head.

RGentle, that's actually Sterling Pounds. And last I heard, Newegg doesn't do foreign packaging.

So, I got my PC back, it seems that my Intel was a 2600K. That means Socket is LGA1155.

The new motherboard is a B75M-A, it has an integrated videocard of Intel HD 3000.
