well after several days of failures I did FINALLY manage to get it to work for me here today.. lol.. seems once I edited my OWN xml it would fully load the game for me.. unsure why that was the key change but is all I done different though..

but if anyone does figure out how to select lock boxes on the drops let me know cause I need hundreds of 3 expired lock box heroes.. lol.. yes figure I'll have to personally edit my own files here also.. so try to list the info clear enough my old brain can figure it out.. hehe

but yes keep up all the great finds.. this is truly been real helpful to so many of us.. thanks to all sharing their finds

Cheers I'll give it a whirl.

Edit--

Naw it's still random.

Did 4 runs, 2 on challenge mode and 2 on normal. While I did get a decent amount of CP, it wasn't consistent at all.

1st run (normal):
3 CP from Zemo
Damage Amp from Viper

2nd run (challenge)
3 CP from Zemo
3 CP from Viper

3rd run (normal):
Iso crystal from Zemo
Iso crystal from Viper

4th run (challenge):
Shredder (trash consumable)
Chaotic grenade (consumable)

I even tried changing all gala weights to 0.01 and leaving just one of them at 0.92. I tried setting one of them to 1000.15 and various other ridiculous numbers, but nothing seems to make a difference.

I think either we need to make changes elsewhere in addition to the gala in mission.xml, or the roulettes are server-side and can't be altered.

do does it atleast increase the chances of getting cp's ? i bit tired since i pulled a alnighter to get the exp hack to work but no progress

As far as I can tell, no. Dropchance seems to be the same as always no matter what you change the <weight> values to.

I think they are server side as well.

Here's my guesses, based on how I've noticed the game operating:

GOLD is handled 100% server side. You can change your gold and gold rewards on the client side (like I did yersterday; I got 1.000 gold for 4-starring a mission), but the server seems to double check the values with some strict rules that prevents the client changes from being saved if they are not valid. I don't think we can influence our gold in any way short of hacking into the server database itself.

I believe this rule applies to all "Hard Currencies" in the same way. So it's the same problem with Command Points, Energy, Silver and Shield points.

The same thing, I think, applies to making purchases. Like for example hero costs cannot be changed to make them only cost 1 CP, because those transactions are verified server side, and get cross-referenced with server rules. So while we may be able to trick the client into thinking a hero only costs 1 CP, the server will double the check price on the server listing and notice there was an error.

I think hacking these values will always cause a CVE no matter what, unless it is somehow possible to trick the server into not double-checking those rules. But I don't see how that's possible short of hacking the server itself.

What we need to focus on are the things that we know are client-side, which most things are because PLaydom wants as much of their game to run off the client. The more things they force to be server-side, the more bandwidth the game requires, and the more CPU power is needed from their host computers, which means hosting the game becomes more expensive for them. So obviously they only make the most important things server side to save as much money as possible while keeping the game playable.

I believe this is also the reason why so many hacks have started working again: Do you remember a few months ago when almost nothing worked? We really only had AoE and speed hack, everything else produced CVE. And then suddenly, Disorient hack worked again. Now xml hacks work again. Even the daily limit on energy tokens has been removed and we can collect then endlessly from energy link. Why is that? What happened to make everything work again all of a sudden?

My theory, quite simply, is that originally they had moved a lot of those game rules to be server-side, to avoid cheating and hacking. That's why almost nothing worked for a while. But the increase in bandwidth and hardware this caused was too much, so they've now moved those rules back to client side to avoid that extra stress on their systems (because they don't want to spend money on upgrading).

So what things are client sided thus hackable?

It's hard to say, none of us know for sure, all we can really do is make educated guesses.

We know for sure right know that we can alter many combat specific elements (damage, aoe, disorient, speed, etc.)
We can also affect in-combat droprates.
We can alter mission scores.
We can alter stats on items and weapons, at least to some degree.
We can affect rewards to at least some degree, though whether they are permanent or not is unsure.

I'm sure there's more, we just have to figure out how exactly.

I wouldn't be surprised if we can make force drop work again, to at least some degree.

I've been looking through the xml's and I think we may be able to affect Group Bosses also. Like change the spawn timer, alter their stats, and more.

We just have to keep playing around and eventually some of us might stumble across something big.

Got it to award me 1000 gold again, but it's only a visual effect. As soon as I try to spend it, I get CVE and the gold is gone after reload.

can anyone tell if we can make viper (epic boss) in 12.2 a normal boss so we can finish the entire mission in just 10 energy rather then 20 ? if yes then it would be nice

well dreamwalker I also liked your previous idea of trying to increase exp gained during the battles.. lol.. would be wicked cool to find a way to gain 16k exp per 12.2 run.. hehe.. I'd crank coowon out till it gave me a force refresh every 10 battles if need be then.. lol.. as I figure most ALL of us would even.. hehe..

but if anyone has any good tips on the lock box mission today toss them out.. I could royally use magnetic an omega an unstoppable boxes here right now.. lol
